The Fleetwood Area High School faculty has chosen the Students of the Month for May. Students Owen Roth and Hunter Boyer have received this award.
Both Boyer and Roth have shown hard work and dedication within their school and their community.
Boyer is involved in many activities, including Volleyball, Track, Student Council, Women’s Empowerment Club, Model Senate, and The Model UN, for which he acts as co-president.
Roth is also very involved in a variety of activities and clubs, including Swimming, Water Polo, Pit Orchestra, Men’s Chorus, and Science Olympiad.
“The award is granted based on effort in school. I’ve been working very hard lately, namely designing a subwoofer cover in SolidWorks for CAD, working on my woodshop project in the shop, doing my absolute best in orchestra and chorus, and working hard on my physics balsa wood bridge,” Roth said.
Both students seemed thrilled to receive this award.
“I feel very happy to receive student of the month for May. I’ve been working very hard lately and it means a lot to me that my efforts are noticed and appreciated by my teachers,” Roth continued.
Roth and Boyer both believe their parents had something to do with their great success and receiving this award.
“My parents encourage me in all of my in-school activities and endeavors,” Boyer said.
Both Roth and Boyer plan on attending college. Roth is planning on attending Lehigh University to study Mechanical Engineering. Boyer is planning on attending Grove City College to study political science.
Both Roth and Owen show tremendous participation in their school and their community
