On November 9, 2022, six Fleetwood student-athletes signed their National Letter of Intent. Two of those athletes were Kaitlyn Pytleski and Tyler Szilli. Kaitlyn Pytleski committed to Kutztown University to play softball and Tyler Szilli decided to continue his baseball career at Alvernia.

Tyler has been playing baseball for 12 years. His passion for the sport came from one of his longtime coaches.

“The person that really influenced me and made me fall in love with the sport is Jon Chwatek. He coached me ever since I was in elementary school and has taught me a lot of what I know today,” Szilli said.

For college, Alvernia was everything Tyler was looking for. Having his major, being on a small campus, and having an overall enjoyable atmosphere was a perfect fit for him.

Kaitlyn Pytleski started playing softball at age 4 and began travel ball at 10. Although Pytleski is looking forward to the independence of college and playing at a higher level, she will miss the Fleetwood team that has become family.

“I will really miss all of the girls. We are all so close to each other and genuinely have the best time playing with each other. I will also miss the constant support from all of my teammates,” Pytleski said.

Kaitlyn became involved with Kutztown in 7th grade when she attended a week-long overnight softball camp. Since then, she has been going to all of their camps and building a relationship with the school and the team. Both athletes look forward to attending college and playing their sport for another four years.
